A strapping machine is a specific type
of packaging machinery that is available in semi-automatic
and fully automatic forms. Strapping machinery is
used in industry to apply a length of polypropylene strapping
around a parcel. The strapping machine exerts
a level of tensional strapping force to apply banding around
a product to secure it during transit.
A strapping machine may also be referred to as a banding
machine; the terms are interchangeable.
How Is a Strapping Machine Used?
To use a semi-automatic strapping machine such as the JN600,
the operator places the parcel on the working table of the
strapping machine. The operator takes a strapping over the
parcel and inserts it into the strapping guide, at which
point the machine back feeds the strapping material until
it contacts the product.
The strapping machine exerts a level of tensional force
to the strapping to secure it. Once this tensional force
has been exerted, the machine will automatically dispense
a length of strapping ready for the next parcel. The total
strapping time, is around three seconds.
What is an Automatic Strapping Machine?
An automatic strapping machine allows for hands-free operation
to strap parcels or products. The parcel is placed in the
middle of the strapping machine. Operation of the strapping
machinery is by foot-pedal, push button or ball-top actuator
and the strapping cycle is instantaneous. The strapping machine
completes the operation in around 1.5 seconds.
One of the main differences between strapping machines is
manual, semi-automatic which is a standalone machine for
low to medium volumes, automatic which is for medium to high
applications. A non-operator machine is quicker. We have

What are the Benefits of Strapping Machinery
The benefits to having a strapping machine are numerous
and include having the facility to support products within
boxes, secure and restrain top lids and closures. The straps
can also be used as a handling aid or even reduce transportation
costs by strapping units together.
Aesthetically, strapping is preferable to brown tape, giving
a neat and tidy appearance. It offers improved tensional
support aiding safe transit of product.
